Jake came back to us at about 8 months old with some resource guarding and confidence issues. For this reason, he is absolutely not available to a home with children. We have been working with him on both issues and he has had some definite improvement, but this will be something his new owner will need to keep in mind for the rest of his life. 95% of the time he is incredibly loving and cuddly and happy. He wants to be a good boy, very much. He is house broke and crate trained. He knows some basic commands and is very food motivated, but this will need to be used with caution as food being used to distract him ended up rewarding him for being reactive. His perfect home will be one with calm energy, but active. He would be a fantastic hiking or running partner and may have potential in agility or flyball sports. He is learning to play ball and is loving it.

As with all of our puppies, Jake will always have a home and soft spot to land with us, but he absolutely could thrive as an only dog in a dog savvy home and we would love nothing more than him to have the very best life possible.
